Vaccinations

At Chestnut Arbor, our emphasis is on preventative medicine wherever possible. It’s said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and that goes doubly for our furry companions. Vaccinations are an important part of every animal’s continued good health.
For dogs, canine parvovirus, distemper, canine hepatitis and rabies are considered core vaccines.

For dogs, canine parvovirus, distemper, canine hepatitis and rabies are considered core vaccines.

For cats, their core vaccines are feline panleukopenia, feline calicivirus, feline rhinotracheitis (a.k.a. feline herpesvirus), and rabies. Depending on your pet’s lifestyle and environment, our veterinarian may suggest additional vaccinations to better protect them from life-threatening illnesses. Additionally, there are occasionally seasonal diseases that go around the local animal community that are particularly harmful for pets. We’ll make sure to let you know about incidences and available vaccines for them when they crop up.
We know that the vet’s office may be a scary place for pets to receive their shots, which is why our Fear Free Certified team is dedicated to making the experience as calm and relaxed as possible. There’s no need to make your pet uncomfortable by lifting them onto a tall, hard exam table to administer vaccines. Instead, our patients are offered tasty treats and toys while they relax in beds on the floor during the procedure.
Our appointment book is fully computerized, which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet.
Please feel free to request an appointment online, our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
